Stair Fiends!!!!

"This stainless steel and oak staircase is built for a client of mine in Amsterdam. It supplies an easy walk up and down, and is quite luxurious. It leaves great visual lines through the room and looks different from every angle; the split one third up hints at the difference between the main living area and the more private family quarters upstairs."

Giant LEGO Figure Appears On Beach

A giant LEGO maxifig washed up on the beach of Brighton, England, and nobody knows where the hell he came from.

The Lego man is 6ft tall in red, yellow and green. It is presumed to have washed up on the beach, but whether it has come from a cargo ship or from across the Channel is not clear.

Brighton resident Gerry Turner, 34, said: "It's very odd. God knows how it got here but people are saying it's from Holland because it's got some Dutch writing on it. It must have fallen off a boat of something. The kids love it."

Arch Daily Couran Point house / Arkhefield

The core drivers behind the build were maximising space and privacy, sheltering from the predominant south-easterly wind/weather front and creating a simple, low maintenance, sustainable living volume which could be enjoyed all year round. The isolation of the site and the harsh climatic conditions on the island are evident in the simplicity of the structure, the choice of basic, low maintenance materials and in the ability which the house is able to isolate, reorientate and shut down against the elements.

Clubbing at the Hills - Michael Hill's Clubhouse by Pattersons Architects, New Zealand

Patterson Associates are arguably New Zealand’s most internationally recognised architects. Andrew Patterson himself has been described as the “virtuosi of New Zealand architecture” by renowned British photographer, writer and style visionary Herbert Ypma. His firm, Patterson Associates Ltd, is the only New Zealand architectural practice to be published in Phaidon’s 10 x 10 book of the world’s best architects. At the core expression of Pattersons design is the term "appurtuant" – an old Saxon word which means to ‘’belong naturally’’. And yes, their masterful design for Hill's Clubhouse in the Wakatipu Basin in New Zealand's Southern Alps definitely belongs naturally.

Crazy Meteor over Canada!!!!

A brilliant meteor shone its alien light over Alberta and Saskatchewan at approximately 5:30 p.m. last Thursday.

[The meteor] likely weighed between one and 10 tons and shone brightly enough to be seen over an area 700 km (435 miles) wide.

"It was somewhere between the size of a chair to the size of a desk," said Alan Hildebrand, a planetary scientist at the University of Calgary and a coordinator of a fireball reporting service.

Hot TokyoFlash for Christmas

The Kisai Denshoku (Illumination) is an all new watch design available from Tokyoflash. With the push of a button the 12 bars light up in a three-part sequence to tell the time. First hours, then 10-minute blocks, then individual minutes. So simple even undersirable Geekologie commentors can do it (and then, God willing, die). The watch is available now for $247 and available in both black and gray.
