Jeremy Scott 2009 Fall RTW Collection

Jeremy Scott takes his penchant for avant-garde design to another level with his latest ready-to-wear collection for Fall 2009. The line-up obviously pays tribute to Disney’s most iconic character, Mickey Mouse. Mickey’s influence is attributed to a load of the designs featuring a medley of red and yellow color tones contrasted with black throughout each piece. The famous mouse even makes a cameo on some of Scott’s footwear designs. Very impressive I must say.

Incase Designs x DC LIFE 2009 Spring Collection

In a continuation of the DC LIFE collection, the skate brand looks to a fellow American brand in Incase Designs to put together a comprehensive range of products. A sneaker growing in popularity, the Dress Sneaker is the template of choice amongst the Sector 7 and Admiral. With Incase’s design in bags, it makes perfect sense for the two to proceed with a special bag, the DC/Incase “Strapped” skate bag in black and army green. The multi-purpose bag will enable to carry both a skateboard and other items such as your belongings and laptop. In addition to footwear and accessories, apparel such as t-shirts are also in the mix.

Pepsi Natural

The new Pepsi Natural. Just like the bottle says: "All natural Cola", and that means: sparkling water, sugar and kola nut extract. There are not very much information about this product, but this image of it, very simple by the way.

I like the idea of big companies trying to change their products to make them more naturals and more eco-friendly. I hope this Pepsi have good taste!

The Newton by Nixon

The Newton is another stunner of a watch from the crew at Nixon. I like the how the two 'electrons' whirl around the center. The look is reminiscent of imagined space travel gear by 1960's Italian designers.

Greener Gadgets 09

Greener Gadgets, now in its second year, is a one-day conference scheduled for February 27, 2009 and features key representatives from some of the largest consumer electronics companies in the world, innovators from academic thinktanks, members of startups focused on renewable energy, and some of the leading minds in the word of sustainable design and business.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Fastronaut toy concept- modeled after the pedometer. Powered by play, each figure has a rechargeable battery, and each vehicle has a dynamo. Each Fastronaut has a power indicator that can be pressed to make the Fastronaut talk. Children get instant feedback as they create energy, and that is strong motivation to be active.

Move Your Energy- Move Your Energy is a rocking shell chair with an LED lamp specially designed for reading. The armchair is power independent - a dynamo provides the electric energy for the lamp which is connected to a special kinematic mechanism. This mechanism is very similar to the one that is characteristic in steam engines. It works together with a lever that runs a fly-weel disk when you rock.

The Power Hog- designed to capture the interest of parents and kids alike and serve the wider environmental cause. Power-Hog visually and symbolically associates power conservation with savings by using the iconic piggy bank as a visual reference. Kids can use their allowance to turn on the TV or video game by feeding the Power-Hog with loose change. The Power-Hog meters consumption and blinks red when time is running out. It also helps parents meter the amount of time spent watching the tube.

Man Holds Woman Hostage With SEGA Light-Phaser

That's right folks, a Brazilian man held a 60-year old woman hostage for ten whopping hours with a Sega Master System Light Phaser. Captain PEW was looking to collect on an unpaid debt, and things got 8-bitty when the lady refused to pay.

The Light Phaser, the light gun that shipped with the Sega Master System, must be fairly common in Brazil, considering how incredibly popular the 8-bit console was in the country--it was one of Sega's strongest markets.

Fortunately, the man released his hostage, unharmed, after negotiating with police.

Well thank goodness there was no shootout! Because one time a friend tried to PEW PEW me with a NES Zapper and I was given no choice but to jam it up his ass, cord and all. Suffice it to say, Duck Hunt = awkward

101 Russel Hill Road / gh3

Built in the brutalist style of architecture of the 1970’s, the house was subsequently renovated several times following a more traditional approach to house design especially by converting large open spaces to a more cellular room design. The renovation reopened the ground floor so that it became an open loft-like space from front to back (the house is about 70′ long). By installing a new fully glazed wall at the rear garden side of the house, it was possible to extend the sense of the outdoor space through to the interior. This takes advantage of the house’s ravine setting by providing more opportunities to see and experience the natural landscape of the ravine from within the house and yet maintains privacy as the kitchen window is almost 30 feet above the public road.

DIS.PLAY :FUTURE OF TOUCHSCREEN TECHNOLOGY

impress - flexible display from Sillenet on Vimeo.

The DIS.PLAY via Impress seems to project what could be the future of touchscreen technology. It makes displays flexible and much flatter than before, by crafting them in foam and force sensors. So, it’s perfectly possible for the displays to respond to your gesticulations and the pressure on the screen.

One day please God.............

Lifted up, it creates a semi-public space on ground level between two layers of discretion. The skin of the villa performs a sophisticated connection between inside and outside and offers spectacular views onto the old town of Marbach and the German national literature archive on the other side of the Neckar valley.

Corner Garden Tub and Whirlpool from Jacuzzi

Here is a great looking corner garden tub and whirlpool from Jacuzzi. The product, called Aquasoul, is a great fit for a corner space in a bathroom. From writing about bathrooms all the time and seeing what is out in the market, there just seems to be less offerings in the corner variety. I like Aquasoul since it presents its self as a nice garden tub and drops some of the frills found in other models. I find that most people want a nice normal look that presents a clean product. The nice white look is a fit in almost any kind of bathroom decorating.

Repisa N5 : Wall Mounted Modern Book Shelf

Wall mounted bookshelves can save valuable floor space, and in the case of the Repisa N5 by designer Sebastián Errázuriz offer an intriguing design at the same time. The N5 bookshelf can be wall mounted horizontally or vertically in your choice of positions including stood up or laid flat to accommodate all of your books or decorative accessories. Made from a remarkably light weight sturdy cherry wood construction. The best feature of the Reprisa N5 book shelf is the ability to fold it up flat against the wall when your not using all or part of it.

Puma, amazing foward thinking design

Our green friends over Inhabitat just tipped us on a new project by NYC/Napoli based office LOT-EK, a practice that has been doing an interesting job by reusing containers.

24 containers are put together to create a 3 storey store with over 11,000 sqf, including a bar/lounge area and 2 decks.

The store is currently at the Volvo Ocean Race 2008-2009, and it´s transported to each location (Alicante, Boston, Stockholm) and assembled quickly.
