Levi’s x Kaws “Navy Teeth” Denim

As it turns out the recent collaboration of Kaws and Levi’s also includes a denim model with a navy teeth design and not only the red/white design that we showcased earlier. The “Navy Teeth” Chompers design by Kaws is much more subtle, as the design is only embroidered and not printed onto the denim.

Some familiar faces over politics, science, economics, philosophy and psychology are included such as Albert Einstein, Henry David Thoreau, Karl Marx, Sigmund Freud and William Shakespeare. Each t-shirt features a re-appropriated portrait with little bits of commentary pertaining to their life’s work. The t-shirts will release this Saturday, March 21st only at Stussy Chapter stores.

It’s not often that a commission to design a treehouse is offered, so when Colenso BBDO - on behalf of Yellow Pages briefed Pacific Environments Architects for a ‘reality’ TV advert for an off-the-wall functioning restaurant, Pacific Environments jumped at the opportunity. Working alongside Tracey Collins and her team , the idea was to source all products and services through Yellow Pages listings (the book, online and mobile). It has paid us to be in Yellow - that’s how we were chosen and we are getting a great profile as a result.

The retro-futuro watches from Lip look like they were designed in the 1950's for the flying car age of the 2000's. The brand was recently relaunched, and the Mythic (left) and Fridge (right) are two watches in the new line. They are available at Watchisimo.

Hole 19 – Golfclub St. Oswald / x Architekten

The golf course as an integrated design landscape and topography nestles up to the soft downs of the Mühlviertel. The club house merges with the landscape and integrates consistently into the natural surroundings, almost being completely absorbed by it. Its outer and inner rooms are designed as a seamless transition into the golf course and become one with the surrounding sports grounds. The inner court offers possibilities for multi-functional activities in a sheltered atmosphere - as a garden for visitors as well as a location for events and award ceremonies. Towards the south west the court opens up into a covered terrace as far as the driving range. On the northern side, it serves as a reception area for players returning from the 18th Hole. The inner court presents itself as the “19th Hole” and the club house as the “19thGreen” of the golf course and they resemble the Start as well as the Finish in the movement of club members and visitors.

Originally conceived almost thirty years ago, the original Nike Killshot was marketed as a racquetball and squash type court shoe. A shoe with a low-profile stance, the Killshot seen here features a combination suede and mesh-upper as its revival in 2009 also includes a vintage distressed treatment. Two colorways in clean, simple colors are seen here which will release sometime in the second half of April.

Coming on the heels of an early preview into the Isetan Lab @ stage collection which was seen with the Levi’s MTR by Minoataur capsule comes a further look into the collection available at Isetan Lab @ stage which features some heavyweight Japanese brands. Among the highlights include a uniform experiment Saitos 3-Layer Nylon Check Moutain Parka and Rayon Crepe L/S B.D. Shirt; SOPHNET.’s capsules include various collaborations with Dickes on pants and Visvim on bags. F.C.R.B. contributes the Physical Training Jacket. Rounding out the collection are subtle pieces thanks to Wacko Maria, nonnative and Bedwin. Available between March 18th and 24th at the bottom floor of Isetan Shinjuku.

Pastelle 2009 Fall Varsity Preview

With Kanye West seen in various lights thanks to a number of fashion shows in the last few weeks, here’s another preview into one of his upcoming Pastelle pieces. The classic varsity jacket falls under Yeezy’s interpretation with a nice speckled wool body and leather sleeves. Red contrast trim and diagonal slash pockets also mark the jacket’s construction. With many-fashion related launches on the way including Louis Vuitton and Nike Sportswear, look for more information to arise regarding Pastelle.

Cool Cats Present Busy P in the U.S.A. Tour

One of the most visible faces behind the Ed Banger Record label and the newly founded Cool Cats collective, Pedro “Busy P” Winter has announced tour dates for a latest romp of the United States. The high-energy DJ is set to embark on stops to eight different locations including one in Mexico. Among the cities involved are Austin, Dallas, San Francisco, Chicago, Miami and two stops in New York City. Check the flyer for a list of tentative dates and locations.

This cottage floats in the forest, its roof tilted to optimise the view over the treetops. The differences in ceiling heights were used to match the different purposes of the room.

MacBook Modded With Screen In Apple Logo

Some guy went and modded a MacBook with a fully functional LCD screen in place of the traditional glowing Apple logo on the back. It's set up as a second monitor too so he can precisely control whatever appears on the thing. But mostly he uses it to display his webcam or iTunes Visualizer. Impressive, guy, but not nearly as impressive as my Apple logo mod, which is -- wait for it, wait for it....a saltwater fish tank! Boom-shacka-lacka!

Shower Head Rain - Treat Yourself to Luxury

When it comes to shower head rain, this is where you can treat yourself to luxury. A close friend of mine was telling me how she wants to remodel her bathroom. She has been in her house for ten years and rarely uses her garden tub. Her plans are to rip out the garden tub and put in a luxury shower. Her reasoning was that the shower would get used all the time, whereas the garden tub sits idle. I was asked what I thought about her idea. Her concern was whether or not it would hurt her chances to sell the property in the future. I responded that my belief is that it will not hurt the chances to sell. Many people do not use their garden tubs that often. I did caution that the shower would have to be nice to win buyers over with the new bathroom concept. Though a garden tub is on our "mental checklist" of house needs, when you really think about it shower head rain in a luxury bathroom setting has its own appeal

Mountain Dwellings / BIG

The Mountain Dwellings are the 2nd generation of the VM Houses - same client, same size and same street. The program, however, is 2/3 parking and 1/3 living. What if the parking area became the base upon which to place terraced housing - like a concrete hillside covered by a thin layer of housing, cascading from the 11th floor to the street edge? Rather than doing two separate buildings next to each other - a parking and a housing block - we decided to merge the two functions into a symbiotic relationship. The parking area needs to be connected to the street, and the homes require sunlight, fresh air and views, thus all apartments have roof gardens facing the sun, amazing views and parking on the 10th floor. The Mountain Dwellings appear as a suburban neighbourhood of garden homes flowing over a 10-storey building - suburban living with urban density.

Solar Birdhouse!!! Finally! Well, kind of. Here's the latest from Oooms ~ they describe their Solar BIrdhouse: "Why would only humans make use of eco-friendly technology? Studio OOOMS designed a birdhouse with a solar panel on it's roof. During the day sunlight feeds the solar panel, charging a small battery inside. At nighttime the transparent stick will light up and shed a tiny light on your garden. This light attracts an easy nighttime snack for the bird; all she has to do is stick her beak out of the hole and wait for the buzz."

High Performance Turntables from Rega

Rega Research Ltd. is a high-end audio equipment manufacturer based in the UK. Founded in 1973, the company's name was formed of the initials of its two founders (RElph & GAndy). Historically Rega are best known for the Rega Planar turntable, but in recent years the company has diversified into a range of other hi-fi products.

Located in the heart of West Hollywood, this new eleven unit housing project emphasizes the central importance of shared open space for the residents and the community. Formosa takes what would be the internalized open space of the courtyard and moves it to the exterior of the building to create a park which occupies approximately one third (4,600 sf) of the project site.

Jeremy Scott 2009 Fall RTW Collection

Jeremy Scott takes his penchant for avant-garde design to another level with his latest ready-to-wear collection for Fall 2009. The line-up obviously pays tribute to Disney’s most iconic character, Mickey Mouse. Mickey’s influence is attributed to a load of the designs featuring a medley of red and yellow color tones contrasted with black throughout each piece. The famous mouse even makes a cameo on some of Scott’s footwear designs. Very impressive I must say.
