New London Rubbish Bin By Paul Smith

Design Museum has joined forces with Beefeater 24 to celebrate the fearlessly progressive spirit of London’s greatest creative minds, past and present. At the heart of the exhibition are fifteen commissions from some of London’s most dynamic creatives, as a group they demonstrate the diverse approaches to design in London. Among the participants in the exhibition are Zaha Hadid, Tom Dixon, Paul Smith and others.

Paul Smith created a rabbit rubbish bin for the city of London. The ‘New London Rubbish Bin’ will be popping up in Covent Garden and Holland Park for a four-month trial period from 28th May. The giant rabbit bins, with ears that light up when anyone puts rubbish in them, are Paul Smith’s contribution to Super Contemporary – an exhibition which opens on 3rd June 2009 at the Design Museum.

Microsoft XBOX 360 Project Natal | Controller-Free Gaming

During the E3 conference Microsoft gave a first preview of their upcoming Project Natal for XBOX 360. We have to admit that is is quite impressive. Playing games, watching movies, listening to music and much more can be done with Project Natal without a controller. The Nintendo Wii certainly introduced the idea, but this takes it much further. There is no release date so far, but the system, which is placed below your TV screen looks very promising! Check out the video above to get a better idea.

Wrap-Around-the-Corner photo frame

The frame fits comfortably at almost any corner of the house and consists of 12 separate panels that can hold 7 to 12 photographs of various sizes. For a picture to wrap around the corner, you'll need to splice it in half and fit it into the adjacent slots. While that may sound like a hassle, we think this makes for an interesting montage of your work.

The retail price of $99 for the Wrap-Around-the-Corner is a bit deterring, but if you have the dough to spare, this picture frame can spruce up a boring corner of your room.

Infrared Duck Hunter Now Available

The Infrared Duck Hunter shooting game made a big splash at CES and the Toy Fair this year, and after several months of waiting it is now available for purchase. Basically, it brings the classic NES Duck Hunt game into the real world without leaving blood on your hands. The free-flying rechargeable duck flies around the room while you attempt to blast it with your infrared gun. If you hit it three times, the vanquished duck will fall out of the sky—ripe for plucking.

Selective Insulation

“Selective Insulation” is a project by the architects Davidson Rafailidis. They developed this small study as a room in a room, which is in a big difficult to heat, old school building. The shape is defined by a few parameters: the daylight conditions, 2 people need a minimum of 4m² desk-related office space and they wanted to have desk, a window and a way to enter/exit. The whole framework is quite simple and wrapped with an insulating layer of double-ply bubblewrap.

No, No, No: Japanese Killer Construction Bot

Wow, they're not even trying to make them look cute anymore. The Japanese born ROBOTOPS is a construction robot whose name is spelled in all caps because IT MEANS BUSINESS. The killing business.

The four-legged, two-armed robot is actually a kind of automated mobile crane with 29 functioning joints for picking off humans, and of course the occasional piece of construction material.

Using a high quality three-chip CCD camera, the robot can be operated remotely for particularly dangerous jobs.

And no, I didn't alter that quote at all. Finally, people are starting to get the picture. It's comforting to know I'm not the only one that sees a problem here. Seriously, Japan -- you know I love you (manga, sushi, worn panty vending machines), but this shit has got to stop. Because if not, well, Godzilla. Just sayin', we share a special bond (read: intercourse).

The house is located on the seafront, overlooking the islands of Asia (Peru). The project aims to demonstrate the connection between an abstract architecture and its surroundings, establishing a relationship between man and nature, between the desert and the sea. The desert generates the need to create a private area in the vastness of its territory; the ocean invites to open their horizons.

Ford 021c, ten Years ago Concept Car

The Ford's 021c Concept Car was unveiled ten years ago! When the car was unveiled, consumers weren't ready for this concept, it was almost universally despised. But back to now, I'm sure you will like it. It's built from carbon fibre, it has some interesting features like the rear doors are hinged at the back that four wide opening doors for easy entrance and egress. The trunk functioned as a pull out drawer instead of a lift up lid.

Nike SB Dunk Keychains

It’s a little weird if you get one of these and don’t have the actual sneaker to back it up but as keychains go, they are way better than your average. Designed by Dope Factory, there’s a mini version of the “Bearbrick” Dunk, Danny Supa Dunk, “Hawaii” Dunk, “Tiffany” Dunk, “Heineken” Dunk, Stussy Dunk, “Supreme” Dunk, Zoo York Dunk, and the “Paris” Dunk. Shipley & Halmos Raincoat

We keep on almost tiring of the double breasted look on coats - but luckily, they keep on making good ones. Not to harp on at ASOS again, but why isn’t Shipley & Halmos in their designer section? If D&G can get into the designer section, then so should Shipley & Halmos. ASOS’s poor decision making aside, this is a great coat for the summer. Obviously the yellow isn’t for everyone, but you can pull it off you’ll be the biggest boss we’ve seen thus far.
