Puma, amazing foward thinking design

Our green friends over Inhabitat just tipped us on a new project by NYC/Napoli based office LOT-EK, a practice that has been doing an interesting job by reusing containers.

24 containers are put together to create a 3 storey store with over 11,000 sqf, including a bar/lounge area and 2 decks.

The store is currently at the Volvo Ocean Race 2008-2009, and it´s transported to each location (Alicante, Boston, Stockholm) and assembled quickly.

BBC | Ice Cream Season 8 Lookbook

BBC | Ice Cream present their latest collection as the brand showcases a side beyond their usual graphical styles which has perhaps been the most visible aspect of the brand. Their collection of cut&sew include some nice button-ups and bold jackets amongst the usual spring and summer shorts and crop pants. Look for these to begin hitting retailers in the near future.

Simple, Yet AMAZING!!!!!

Another house that looks like fun to be invited! The house is about 20 miles from Tokyo and is surrounded by nothing but open fields. It was designed by another young couple who design from architecture to products.

The Ultimate Fun House called “House in Matsuyama”

“House in Matsuyama” was built in Shikoku Island for a young couple who has three boys - for Japanese it’s a big family. This unique house situated near by the Seto Inland Sea perfectly matches the atmosphere of the region where the climate is mild even in winter. It was designed by a husband-and-wife team of architects based in Tokyo who go by the name ‘SUEP.’. (Note: I forgot to confirm with Hirokazu Suemitsu and Yoko Suemitsu if they were husband and wife since I had no doubt… just making an excuse in case I’m wrong.)

Lili Lite, I LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!!

Lili Lite is a reading light, a bookmark and a bookshelf combined into one smart product. A sensor turns off the light when an open book is placed on the shelf. When the book is picked up again, the light automatically turns on. Lili Lite also has a switch to turn the light on and off manually. Lili Lite is a witty design that combines function and style in a simple but ingenious way.

CLOT x Medicom Toy x Levi’s Watermelon & Strawberry Denim

As last year saw the successful pairings of CLOT, MEDICOM TOY and Levi’s on a set of Bearbricks, the concept has once again been re-applied on a new medium. The three brands have come together to apply the Watermelon and Strawberry theme to a pair of men’s and women’s denim, the 505 and 280 respectively. The well-distressed denim features a handful of relevant imagery including CLOT logos and touches of watermelon and strawberry on the patches. The aforementioned fruity references are also shown into the weft of the denim at the leg opening and when cuffed expose the colorful print. The women’s 280 goes a bit further with Bearbrick embroideries in the form of the silhouette of the Bearbrick’s head and a marching Strawberry Bearbrick. The denim will release this Friday, December 19th, exclusively at Juice in Hong Kong

FUCKING AWWWZZZUMMMMM!!!!!!

Some woman's husband had a bakery make her a Nikon D700 cake, then he gave her the actual camera afterward. How romantic. Well, not as romantic as presenting your wife with a cake that looks like two hands, then giving her the clap, but, pfft, what is?

Disney x Etnies Plus Upsetter

Seeing a more active role by Disney on the collaboration front and fresh off the heels of work with The Hundreds, sneaker brand Etnies Plus is the latest up to bat. Known for their clean styles, the same trend continues despite Disney’s cheery cartoon influence. Two models of the Upsetter are seen here themed after “The Evil Lord” and “Mickey Mouse” as they are referenced by subtle highlights on the heel. A release date is slated for 2009 spring.

This shit reminds me of the robots from Judge Dredd!!!

The Hundreds x Disney x New Era 59Fifty Fitted Set

The Hundreds follow up on their “Lost Boys” collection with a set of New Era caps. Both feature references to their recent collaboration alongside Disney, with the Peter Pan piece taking the cake. Certainly a witty play on Peter Pan’s traditional green hat with an embroidered feather on the side. The rest of the “Lost Boys” line can be seen at The Hundreds official website.

More DOPE Shelving!!!!!

We recently featured another wonderful shelving product from Bellato in a recent article. Here is another great design called "Takebook". A. Sattin created this product keeping in mind that each person has their own creative energies. Focusing on color and simple MDF construction, Takebook allows us to create our own contemporary bookshelves and bookcases. My favorite design element is the color. The red bookshelves are very cool as is the white and the combination orange and white. Here we can do our own home decorating adding color and design into a living room, study, or home office.

Bellato Rotating Bathroom and Kitchen Cabinets

Giralot is a design by Stefano Bettio that takes color to a new level. These rotating cabinets are designed for any room of the home. In the kitchen picture, Giralot is being used as a pantry with the colorful shelves available for storage while at the same time, bringing a lot of color into the other wise white kitchen design. The rotating bathroom cabinets create an awesome backdrop of purple, blue, and white creating a stunning visual for the home. Other ideas include media storage, entertainment centers, and general bookshelves. There are many possibilities for this product. The two things that I like best are the introduction of color into rooms and the way that things can be "put away" quickly by rotating the shelving.

Loft Reclining Sectional Sofa from Arketipo Furniture

Here is a product that could have made our recent article called, Sofas: 15 of the Most Amazing Modern Designs. At times I like to imagine my living room being transformed from a place of design to one of comfort. When it comes down to it as humans we need to relax and have restorative time away from our jobs and other stresses in life. Loft is a reclining sectional sofa from Arketipo furniture that has concealed its secret - that it can be comfortable as well. The low profile creates a wonderful visual in a living room. In no way does it appear to be "overstuffed" or "oversized". Thus, you have the cool look and then have the flexibility to recline and relax for your restorative time. There are numerous fabric and leather options available.

Sendai Bookshelves

Horm of Italy does more than produce everyday bookshelves. Once again they have delivered a contemporary Italian design marvel in its Sendai bookshelves model. Sendai features custom construction in the supports for each shelf. Each support is warped and changed to unique shapes creating an interesting look that departs from the structural shape we associate in bookshelf construction. The support legs look worn and tired, but in truth provide ample support for the shelves. The colors of the wood supports are walnut and natural giving the appearance of an exotic wood or a yet to be discovered bamboo. Designer: Toyo Ito.

Villa/Gallery in Karuizawa

Karuizawa is a bijou town favoured by weekending Tokyoites. The Villa is perched on a steep slope oriented south in the forest, and looks out over a towering view of mountain ranges.

It is the villa for the couple of musicians. They wanted a flexible space that could work as a villa, gallery for contemporary art -mainly sculptures- and salon for music concert, place to entertain friends. To fulfill the functions, the ‘blank space’ should be required. The kitchen and bath -usual functions of a house- are built into the floor. The materials, requested interestingly no wood should be visible, glass, mirror and polished stainless steel reflect the light and view in the obstacle-less interior. They create an expanded impression of the space, one storey polygon with plenty of empty, white space.

The outside form a remarkable contrast to the interior. The finish of outside, the roof, wall, oblique foundation, is FRP (fiber reinforced plastics) painted in white. The seamless skin looks scaleless ‘point’ in the forest.

A-10 Warthog Motorcycle, RIDICULOUS!!!!!

The A-10 Thunderbolt II (aka Warthog) is a plane that never fails to make me swoon. I don't know if it's the styling or the 30mm Gatling gun in it's mouth, but my god does that plane do something to me. And now the guys over at ICON Motorsports have gone and made an A-10 inspired motorcycle. Complete with 800-watt sound system, 8-inch LCD screen and minigun, the bike is clearly ready for combat. And by combat I obviously mean me in my "If you can read this, my bitch fell off" t-shirt.

A Bathing Ape 2008 Winter Bapesta

They’ll run you about 16,590 yen (approx. $178 USD). Available at all Bape flagship stores.

With a new solid North American distribution in place, look for a new series of exciting projects on the way.

Ballandean House / Arkhefield

The Tobin Winery is located on a North facing gently sloping site on a vineyard in the heart of the Granite Belt. The vineyard merges with remnant scrub that borders a creek while occasional protrusions of the local granite punctuate the landscape. With Sundance Road dissecting the site, the house is located at the top of the site, looking down over the vines, road, and creek to the distant hills.

Terrorist LEGO Minifigs Stir Controversy

I can't say that I'm surprised, but apparently people are taking offense to LEGO minifigs that have been modded (by BrickArms) to resemble terrorists and Nazis.

Mohammed Shaffiq of Muslim organisation The Ramadhan Foundation told The Sun the figures were 'absolutely disgusting'. He said: 'It is glorifying terrorism - the makers should be ashamed. We should be coming together to unite against terrorism but how is that possible when children are playing with toys like this?'

Last night the business's founder Will Chapman said: 'It's not my intention to glorify terrorism or Nazis - but kids love the bad guys. He added: 'I can see why people might get offended but that is not what I'm trying to do. We have sold thousands and thousands of them.'

He later added: 'CHA-CHING!'

When reached for comment, the Geekologie Writer had this to say about the figures: 'Finally, terrorists versus Nazis! PEW PEW.'

Hit the jump for a few more of the offensive minifigs.

A sink doesn't have to look like a sink as the Agape "Gabbiano" bent plywood wash basin proves here. The Nike SB camp saved some of their better releases for last, offering a look at what the final month of 2008 has in store. Along with a blazer and P.Rod II low, we get a look at the long awaited Batman Mids, Marty McFly-esque Tre’s, Dunk Lows and a nice effort on the Dunk Hi’s. All should be available at Nike SB dealers now or arriving soon.

Im actually pretty stoked on these

Seeing a release early next year is this upcoming collection from Vans. While just recently we saw a croc pack of its own, this 2009 release features a slightly different angle. The use of croc is seen in a more subtle light with two different color schemes seen here in neon green with suede and black leather. Available starting early January, 2009.

SIA IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!

YES!!!!!!

Following up on her insane Chanel mobile art tour structure design, British architect Zaha Hadid sets forth on another impressive piece titled Space Bar. The sculpture is made of metal with a silver leather finish and coated with glossy enamel. It is now on display at Home House, an ultra-glamorous exclusive Private Members Club in London. Definitely a nice piece we’ll never see in real life, unless your a part of society’s elite that is.

Not a fan of tequila but.......

1800 Tequila sent us Glen Barr's bottle from their Essential Artists campaign - a line of limited edition bottles featuring the artwork of nine artists - Dosa Kim, Glenn Barr, Artillery, Chris Dean, Jorge Alderete, Josh Ellingson, Hannah Stouffer, Jeremy Bacharach, and Urban Medium. There are 1800 of each Essential Artist bottle. The bottles can be purchased for $35 (I couldn't find a website that listed images and artists, sorry!) and are already showing up on ebay for upwards of $60.

Blending Wall Shelves into Decorative Wall Art

These wall shelves inspire me about the possibilities of dressing up a room. Russian designer Maria Yasko created this installation. In her vision, wall shelves become blended into the room creating decorative wall art. Her motif is nature as evidenced by the leaves and branches. This is a great idea if you are looking to spruce up a wall and create an overall room theme.
